Summit House Charlotte Approves Short Term Expansion Plans
At its June Board meeting, the Summit House Charlotte Board of Directors approved plans to expand the current facility to add four addtional bedrooms.  This plan will allow Charlotte to serve eight families in individual bedrooms, thereby increasing privacy and promoting greater mother-child bonding.

Staff and Board are currently working to ensure that all zoning and building code standards are sufficient as well as drafting a Fundraising/Development plan.  Stay tuned for updates!

New Executive Director of Summit House-Piedmont Brings Greetings

My name is Stephania Whitehurst and I am the new Executive Director of the Summit House-Piedmont in Greensboro, North Carolina. My background includes a Masters in Social Work, Directing a Head Start/Early Head Start program, Supervising Housing Programs and many years of working with low-income children and families within non-profit organizations.

I am very happy to be a part of the Summit House family.  This program has done so many great things for women and their children by providing education, housing, supervision, counseling, referrals and supportive services to families that would otherwise be displaced.  Having the opportunity to work in a program that empowers women so that they have a chance not to be repeat offenders and an opportunity to reunite them with their children is wonderful and exciting.  I am already enjoying being apart of such a worthwhile organization.
